Education Law |
|
The business of education has been an important part of our practice since
the 1950s when
two of our name partners, Lew Bose and Bill Evans,
began providing legal services to schools. Education law is extremely complex and ever-evolving.
Today, schools
must address numerous issues ranging from contracts to inclusion to compliance with state and federal laws. |

Flexible arrangements fit the unique needs of each school corporation or district. For a comprehensive, cost effective
approach to legal services, many school systems use our services to augment those of local counsel. Frequently, it is
expedient for schools to use local counsel for routine matters and rely on us for specialized situations, such as
teacher due process in which two legal counselors are required.
Our services are offered on a fee-for-services basis or an ongoing retainer basis. Schools often find that working with us on a retainer basis helps with budgeting. In addition, when we work with schools on a continuing basis, we build strong relationships with school officials and get to know their operations and particular challenges. Retainer clients also benefit from our support services including workshops, advisory newsletters and bulletins to alert them to rulings and regulations that could impact their operations. Our flexibility, experience and extensive services help ensure that clients receive the legal assistance they need in today's complex education environment. |
