Indianapolis, Ind. -- The law firm of Bose McKinney & Evans LLP announces that Cynthia A. Morton of Lawrenceburg , Ind. , is the recipient of the 2008 Lewis C. Bose Scholarship for Educational Leadership.
The $2,000 Lewis C. Bose Scholarship for Educational Leadership is awarded to an Indiana educator who has been accepted into and will attend an advanced degree program for education administration in 2009. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of the applicant's past academic and professional achievements, future goals, potential for leadership and financial need. Educators from all 92 counties in Indiana were invited to apply.
Morton is currently the principal at Sunman Elementary School in Sunman , Ind. , and is pursuing her Ph.D. in education.
Morton is continuing her education through the Distance In Learning Program at Purdue University , where she received her bachelor of arts and master's degrees in education. Completing her Ph.D. in education with an educational specialist license will allow her to pursue career opportunities as a public school superintendent or in a central office role.
After teaching for 15 years, Morton was motivated to further her educational career and move into the role of principal to be an influence in many students' lives. She has been the principal at Sunman Elementary for the past six years and is committed to doing what is best for her students.
