

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Bose Public Affairs Group LLC is pleased to announce that vice president Cresswell "Cress" Hizer has been elected to the board of directors of the National Grain and Feed Association.
The National Grain and Feed Association, founded in 1896, is a broad-based, non-profit trade association that represents and provides services for grain, feed and grain-related commercial businesses.
Hizer has many years of experience both working as a top government official and representing clients to the public and to government at the federal, state and local levels. He also serves the Indiana agribusiness community as a leader and spokesman for one the largest industries in the state--agriculture, as the CEO of the Agribusiness Council of Indiana. The Council represents the Indiana Grain and Feed Association which includes the Indiana BioFuels Alliance and the Indiana Plant Food & Agricultural Chemicals Association.
Prior to working at Bose Public Affairs Group, Hizer served five years as then-Indiana Lt. Gov. Frank O'Bannon's top aide for agriculture. As Indiana's assistant commissioner of agriculture and director of the Commodity Warehouse Licensing Agency, Hizer worked to improve Indiana agriculture's access to government. He also represented former Lt. Gov. O'Bannon on the State Fair Commission. For his public service, Hizer was awarded Indiana's highest honor, the Sagamore of the Wabash, by both Gov. Evan Bayh and Gov. Joe Kernan.
A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Hizer has done graduate work at Indiana and Penn State universities. He earned his Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation in 1998 and is a graduate of the Indiana Agricultural Leadership Development Program (Class 2). He is active in industry groups, including the American and Indiana Society of Association Executives, the Government Affairs Society of Indiana and serves as Secretary/Treasurer of the Agricultural Association Executive's Council. Hizer also serves on the Purdue University Agronomy Advisory Board, the Board of Directors of the Indiana Soybean Alliance and the National Grain and Feed Association Board of Directors.
