INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The law firm of Bose McKinney & Evans LLP is pleased to announce that Suzanna Hartzell-Baird has joined the firm as an associate in the Litigation Group.
Prior to working for Bose McKinney & Evans, Hartzell-Baird served as judicial law clerk for Chief Justice Shepard of the Indiana Supreme Court, where she conducted legal research, assisted in drafting opinions and attended oral arguments. She also worked as a judicial extern in Circuit Court, Superior Civil Court and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana as well as a summer associate for Bose McKinney & Evans.
Originally from Indianapolis, Hartzell-Baird graduated with her juris doctorate, summa cum laude, from the Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis. One of the first recipients of the U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy Scholarship, Hartzell-Baird also received the 2007 Phi Delta Phi Graduate of the Year Award. She was a note development editor for the Indiana Law Review and had her article, "When Sex Doesn't Sell: Mitigating the Damaging Effect of Megan's Law on Property Values," published in the West Real Estate Law Journal, 35 Real Est. L. J. 353.
Also graduating with highest distinction, Hartzell-Baird received her Bachelor of Science in accounting and finance from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business. She was named a Chancellor's Scholar and was a recipient of the Dwight D. Peterson Key Award, among others.
Before and during law school, Hartzell-Baird worked as an office assistant, intern and law clerk at various Indianapolis law firms, where she developed her legal research and writing skills.
Currently residing in Indianapolis, Hartzell-Baird is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, Indianapolis Bar Association, has volunteered with community programs including IBA's Ask a Lawyer and Teen Court, and enjoys theater.
