BOSE MCKINNEY & EVANS HELPS CREATE PRIMER OF IP LAWS AROUND THE GLOBE

The Intellectual Property Group of the Indianapolis-based law firm of Bose McKinney & Evans has been instrumental in creating a CD titled “A Twenty-Five Country Primer of Intellectual Property Laws and Regulations 2007” that outlines the intellectual property laws and regulations in 25 countries.

Unlike other areas of the law, intellectual property law is governed by statutes and treaties that span countries and continents. The information included in the primer provides a practical and basic foundation of multi-jurisdictional IP regulations. The primer presents a brief overview of relevant IP law in each country listed and is not to be regarded as the final word on intellectual property law throughout the world.

“As the commercial and technological world changes, different countries choose different solutions to adapt to those changes,” said Jim Coles, co-chair of Bose McKinney & Evans’ Intellectual Property Group. “This primer serves as a general guide for anyone interested in how IP law works around the world.”

The primer includes contributions by intellectual property attorneys from ALFA International’s 125 member firms across the globe. The primer was edited by Coles along with Robin Bynoe, Charles Russell LLP in London; and Stan Abrams and Richard Wageman, Lehman Lee & XU in Beijing.
