Bose McKinney & Evans LLP is pleased to announce that MaryEllen K. Bishop has been selected by her peers as one of the "Best Lawyers in America" for 2007 in the area of Trust and Estate Law.

"The Best Lawyers in America" is the 13th edition undertaken by Woodward/White Inc. To compile the current database, over 16,000 lawyers throughout the United States were asked to rate the clinical abilities of other lawyers in their areas of specialization. Only those lawyers who earned the consensus support of their peers were included, and the listings cannot be bought. For this reason, inclusion in "Best Lawyers" is considered a singular honor.

Bishop is a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association, Indiana State Bar Association, American Bar Association and Estate Planning Council of Indianapolis. She also received a certification as an Indiana Estate Planning and Administration Specialist by the Estate Planning and Administration Specialty Certification Board.

Additionally, she was appointed by Gov. Frank O'Bannon to the Indiana Probate Code Study Commission. Bishop is a Fellow of the Indiana State Bar Foundation and a Distinguished Fellow of the Indianapolis Bar Foundation. She will become chair of the Indiana University Alumni Association on July 1, 2007.

She is admitted to practice law before the Indiana Supreme Court, United States District Court, Southern and Northern Districts of Indiana; United States Tax Court and the United States Supreme Court.

A resident of Carmel, Bishop earned a bachelor's degree from the Kelley School of Business and her law degree from Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis.
