BOSE EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP WINNER ANNOUNCED

Bose McKinney & Evans LLP announces that Jennifer McCormick of Muncie, Ind., is the recipient of the 2007 Lewis C. Bose Scholarship for Educational Leadership.

The $2,000 Lewis C. Bose Scholarship for Educational Leadership is awarded to an Indiana educator who has been accepted into and will attend an advanced degree program for education administration in 2008. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of the applicant’s past academic and professional achievements, future goals, potential for leadership and financial need. Educators from all 92 counties in Indiana were invited to apply.

McCormick is currently the principal at Yorktown Elementary School in Yorktown, Ind., and is pursuing her Ed.S. in school leadership.

As she continues her education this fall at Indiana State University, McCormick hopes to use her Ed.S. degree to further her career opportunities in a central office role and teach at the university level.

She received her bachelor of arts degree in elementary education from Purdue University and her master’s degree in special education from Ball State University. McCormick earned the opportunity to teach in the areas of general education and special education at Wes-Del Jr./Sr. High, Hamilton Heights High School and Yorktown Middle School.

“The Lewis C. Bose Scholarship for Educational Leadership allows us the opportunity to honor the memory of our founding partner, Lew Bose (1917-2001), by paying tribute to those who guide and lead our schools and students,” said Chuck Rubright, chairman of the Bose McKinney & Evans Education Law Group, said.

“Jennifer is an outstanding candidate who truly exemplifies the philosophy of the Lewis C. Bose Scholarship, which is to reward the winner’s personal achievements and future goals,” Rubright added. “I am confident that she will excel in her future endeavors and serve as a superior role model for all with whom she comes in contact.”
