Bose McKinney & Evans is pleased to announce
that partner Philip
J. Ripani of the firm's
Labor and
Employment Law Group will serve on a panel from 8-10:30 a.m., Jan. 16,
at the Diversity Roundtable of Central Indiana's (DRTCI) meeting to be held
at Citizens Gas in downtown Indianapolis. The panel will discuss "Finding
Balance to Immigration Reform in Central Indiana, A Dialogue Towards
Mutuality." The event is a free and open forum and the public is invited.
The panel will include diverse perspectives to the great immigration debate currently being contested in the United States as it relates back to Central Indiana communities and its workplaces. This panel of professionals with varying perspectives on immigration will respond to questions in a debate format. The DRTCI is a non-profit organization formed out of a desire, commitment, and need to focus on diversity as an integral part of organizations of greater Indianapolis that are interested in implementing diversity strategies or maintaining current initiatives. Ripani represents employers in labor and employment matters regarding employee benefits, immigration, employment discrimination, employee misconduct, collective bargaining and contract disputes, and other general employment issues. He helps company management with these and other labor issues, including union prevention, hiring, discipline and retention of employees, wage and hour, and plant closing issues. Additionally, Ripani aids businesses with the immigration issues surrounding transferring employees internationally and obtaining visa status for foreign employees. He has helped companies, their foreign workers and their families, to obtain or extend appropriate temporary and immigrant status visas, including H-visas, student visas and permanent residence visa status. Ripani has been a practicing attorney since 1976. He is licensed to practice law in Colorado and Indiana. A resident of Indianapolis, Ripani earned his
bachelor's degree from Indiana University and his law degree from Indiana
University School of Law – Indianapolis. |
