INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Indianapolis-based law firm Bose McKinney & Evans LLP is pleased to announce that Jacob Lilly has joined the firm's Litigation Group as an associate.
Lilly has significant and varied experience in the fields of international affairs and politics. He served most recently as an assistant district attorney in the Eastern Judicial District of Georgia in Savannah. Previously, Lilly served as a captain and judge advocate in the 3rd Infantry Division, United States Army. While a JAG, he served as special assistant United States attorney and trial counsel.
Additionally, he deployed to Iraq in 2005 as the chief counsel, detainee operations, where his principal responsibilities included legal oversight over coalition detention operations and led the MND-B human rights programs for Iraqi security forces. As part of this effort, Lilly led U.S. efforts to detect, locate and prevent illegal Iraqi detention and torture facilities.
A resident of Indianapolis, Lilly earned a bachelor of arts degree magna cum laude from St. Mary's College of Maryland and earned his law degree from Cornell Law School.
During law school, Lilly interned with the 7th Infantry Division, U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Corp in Colorado Springs, Colo., and the U.S. Department of Justice: Executive Office of U.S. Attorneys (FOIA/PA) in Washington, D.C. Lilly also served as an intern in The White House, the New Democratic Network and the United States Senate, and as a Democratic page in Washington, D.C.
