Roger Harvey

Profile

Roger Harvey oversees strategic communications for Bose McKinney & Evans and is a principal with Bose Public Affairs Group LLC. Harvey works closely with corporations, governmental entities, and non-profit organizations providing strategic communications services. His experience includes crisis communications, public relations, media coaching and grassroots campaigns. Harvey also assists clients with messaging and branding to both internal and external audiences.

Prior to joining Bose McKinney & Evans and Bose Public Affairs Group, Harvey spent more than 18 years as an Emmy award-winning news anchor and reporter with television network affiliates in Indianapolis, Richmond, Va. and Florence/Myrtle Beach, S.C. His career as a journalist has taken him around the world, and his investigative, political and general assignment reports have been honored dozens of times. He received an Edward R. Murrow regional award for his reporting in Afghanistan where he was one of the first journalists to report live using a satellite videophone from Camp Phoenix in Kabul, Afghanistan.

Among his most memorable assignments, Harvey covered Hurricane Katrina as the storm hit Mississippi, reporting on Indiana Task Force One and the mission to rescue victims in Gulfport and Biloxi. He also reported from New York City within hours of the September 11 attacks and was an anchor at the Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia.

He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has also completed programs with Lean Six Sigma, Executive Leadership, at the Six Sigma Enterprise Institute and is a graduate of the Business Journalism Program at the American Press Institute, Medill School of Journalism, Northwestern University.

Honors / Awards

Harvey has received Pinnacle Awards from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Hoosier Chapter for excellence in the categories of public affairs campaign, crisis communications, and public service campaign. He has received an EPIC Award of Excellence from the International Association of Business Communicators, Indianapolis chapter for Multi-Audience Communication Program and an EPIC Award of Excellence for Media Relations Communications. The Indiana Society of Association Executives presented Harvey with a STAR Award of Excellence for Best Community/Philanthropic Program. He has received journalism awards from the Scripps Howard Foundation; the Radio-Television News Directors Association; the Washington, D.C., and Cleveland, Ohio, Emmy chapters; the Society of Professional Journalists; and the Associated Press. Among his statewide honors, he was named the Associated Press Reporter of the Year. The Indiana Broadcasters Association selected his investigative work as "Story of the Year." He also won a CASPER Award for community service in investigative reporting.
