Kellie M. Barr
Profile
Kellie Barr is an associate in the Litigation and Appellate Groups. Ms. Barr is primarily involved with commercial and business disputes, product liability matters, professional licensure, liability, and disciplinary litigation, and litigation involving financial institutions. She has written and argued successful motions for summary judgment and directed verdict. Ms. Barr has participated in jury trials and has experience presenting witnesses, cross-examining witnesses, and arguing closing at trial. She also has written appellate briefs for clients in state and federal court, assisted with appellate oral arguments, and defended petitions for rehearing and transfer. Prior to joining Bose McKinney & Evans, Ms. Barr served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable John G. Baker, Chief Judge of the Indiana Court of Appeals. As a judicial law clerk, Ms. Barr researched and drafted appellate opinions, observed oral arguments, and analyzed issues spanning the legal spectrum. Her legal background also includes an internship with the legal department of Simon Property Group, an internship with the Appellate Division of the Indiana Attorney General’s Office, and a summer associate position at Bose McKinney & Evans. Ms. Barr earned her law degree from Indiana University School of Law – Bloomington, where she was the champion of the 2004-2005 Sherman Minton Moot Court Competition, an articles editor for the Indiana Law Journal, a class representative for the Student Bar Association, and the Chief Justice of the 2005-2006 Sherman Minton Moot Court Board. Prior to law school, Ms. Barr received a B.A. in psychology and speech & hearing sciences and a minor in Spanish from Indiana University. Ms. Barr is admitted to practice law in the State of Indiana, the federal district courts of Indiana, the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
