Douglas R. Brown
Profile
Doug Brown is a partner in the Business Services Group of Bose McKinney & Evans LLP and senior vice president of the firm's ancillary business, Bose Public Affairs Group LLC. He also is an active member of the firm's Governmental Services Group. He assists businesses in various sectors, including mortgage lending, software, manufacturing, real estate development, gaming and horse racing, in a variety of legal issues, including business transactions, disputes, financing, governmental affairs, public affairs, legislative affairs, regulatory affairs, and daily strategic and operational matters. Mr. Brown has served as inside general counsel to a national mortgage lender and worked as outside general counsel to the Indiana Association of Mortgage Brokers.
Recently named one of Indianapolis' leading and most influential lawyers by the Indianapolis Business Journal, Mr. Brown has been named one of Indiana's "Super Lawyers®" by Law & Politics every year since the designation's inception. Indiana's late Gov. Frank O'Bannon also named Mr. Brown a Sagamore of the Wabash, the highest state governmental honor bestowed upon a civilian.
Mr. Brown was a longtime member and officer of the Capital Improvement Board of Managers of Marion County, comprised of nine community leaders responsible for the ownership, financing and operation of the City of Indianapolis' sports, convention and public assembly venues, including the Indiana Convention Center, Lucas Oil Stadium, Conseco Fieldhouse and Victory Field. Mr. Brown also served as the CIB's designee on the Board of Directors of the Indiana Sports Corporation, a not-for-profit enterprise responsible for promoting sporting events in Central Indiana ranging from U.S. Olympic Trials, Big Ten and NCAA tournaments and the 2012 Super Bowl.
Mr. Brown earned his doctor of jurisprudence degree from the Indiana University School of Law -Indianapolis.

Representative Matters
- Mr. Brown is well-known for successfully reviving the hard fought decade-long battle by Indiana Downs to obtain a license from the Indiana Horsing Commission to build and operate the state's second parimutuel horse track and racino (Indiana Downs / Indiana Live!).
- Mr. Brown has long served as the General Counsel of the Indiana Association of Mortgage Brokers and Indiana Association of Mortgage Professionals. Mr. Brown has been integrally involved in the drafting, passage, enforcement and evolution of Indiana's mortgage lending laws and regulations.
- Mr. Brown was a founding director, Secretary and legal counsel to the Indiana Gaming Association and has been integrally involved in the drafting, passage, enforcement and evolution of Indiana's gaming laws and regulations.

Outside the Office
As a past board president of the International Center of Indianapolis and a founding director and past board president of the International School of Indiana, Mr. Brown has been a major force in helping Indianapolis become a community hospitable to people of all cultures. Doug is also a past board president and current endowment trustee of St. Mary's Child Center, a charity providing educational and social services to poor, at-risk preschoolers.
