David L. Pippen

Profile

David Pippen is a partner and chairman of the Environmental Law Group of Bose McKinney & Evans LLP. The former general counsel and senior policy director for Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels also is a member of the firm's Utilities Group. Mr. Pippen represents clients with legal issues related to environmental law, administrative law and general representation before state and federal agencies. Mr. Pippen's utility practice is focused on energy and water issues.

In 2007, Mr. Pippen joined the Daniels administration as the policy director for natural resources and the environment, later assuming responsibilities over issues related to energy. He served as the liaison to numerous state government agencies including the Department of Environmental Management, Department of Natural Resources and Department of Agriculture, among others. Mr. Pippen was subsequently named general counsel to Governor Daniels, where he oversaw legislative, transactional, criminal justice and civil litigation responsibilities. He served as the chair of the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute, and was the liaison to the Indiana Supreme Court.

Mr. Pippen earned his law degree from Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis, and graduated with his bachelor's degree from Wabash College. In addition to volunteering with local civic organizations, Mr. Pippen also serves Indiana as the Staff Judge Advocate for the Indiana Guard Reserve, an all-volunteer component of the Indiana National Guard.
