Legal Accounting Clerk – Accounts Payable

Bose McKinney & Evans is recruiting for an entry level, full-time Accounting Clerk to support our diverse legal practice.  The Accounting Clerk’s primary responsibilities are: process all payments including checks, ACHs/wires, and credit card transactions while reviewing supporting documentation and record the daily deposit.  Additional responsibilities are: reconcile various bank accounts, month-end reporting, year-end 1099 reporting, monitor and reconcile petty cash, respond to vendor and in-house inquiries, along with other projects assigned by the Accounting Manager and CFO.

  • The Accounting Clerk will have at least 1 year of general accounting experience and must be comfortable with new technology. We currently are using Enterprise Elite but will be converting to newer technology in 2018/2019. Training will be provided to the extent required.
  • Until the software conversion and automation of importing transactions, this position requires heavy data entry. With our current software and process, approximately 90% of your time will be data entry.
  • The Accounting Clerk is expected to perform all job duties with a commitment to providing superior service while producing a high quality work product. High attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to multitask and prioritize is essential.
  • The Accounting Clerk must possess outstanding interpersonal skills in order to work effectively within a team environment, as well as independently.  The ability to adapt to new assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced, highly demanding environment is required.  Additional requirements include outstanding customer service demeanor and flexibility for possible overtime hours.

Administrative Assistant – Litigation and Labor & Employment

Bose McKinney & Evans LLP seeks an administrative assistant to join its Litigation and Labor & Employment Practice Groups in Indianapolis.  Candidates are required to have a minimum of 5+ years of experience as a legal administrative assistant.  Litigation experience is required.  Proficiency with electronic case filing in the state and federal trial and appellate courts is required.  Labor & Employment experience is preferred.  Responsibilities: prepare, transcribe and proofread various litigation documents and business correspondence; scan/copy documents; enter daily timesheets; proofread, edit and finalize pre-bills; prepare reimbursement requests; maintain client files and docket books; plan and schedule meetings and maintain timekeepers’ calendars as needed; coordinate and make travel arrangements; open and close client files and communicate directly with clients.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and advanced level computer skills are required.   Positive team player; independent self-starter; excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills; demonstrate good judgment and discretion; generate high-quality work, with exceptional attention to detail and able to prioritize, multi-task, meet deadlines and maintain poise in a fast paced environment.
