Labor and Employment
Bose McKinney & Evans conducts in-house workshops to keep management current on recent legal developments and to sharpen supervisors' skills in avoiding employment law problems. We work with clients to develop training programs appropriate for their needs. Large Fortune 500 companies and small, family-owned businesses alike benefit from our combination of sound legal advice and practical business insight.
The objectives of these workshops are to give those attending a clear understanding of the topics, the positive and negative consequences of the issues, and models for effective employer and employee relationships.
Each workshop is two hours in length and is presented at the client's place of business. The workshops utilize video and PowerPoint® presentations. The cost of the program depends on the number of sessions needed, the number of people trained and travel expenses. The costs includes handout materials for all attendees. Overview Union Awareness Workshop
One of the best ways for a business to remain union- free is to be aware of the issues and reasons that often drive employees to organize. Wages, benefits, job security and safety are the concerns which frequently pit the workers against the company. From this awareness, a proactive campaign to avoid unions should be implemented utilizing clear communication with employees, fair treatment of workers and well-executed human resources policies. Attorneys from the Labor & Employment Group of Bose McKinney & Evans have developed a workshop to teach managers how to establish policies and lines of communication to help prevent union formations. Should a movement toward unions begin, the attorneys have steps management should take during the campaign to reduce the likelihood of votes in favor of a union.
