The law firm of Bose McKinney & Evans LLP is pleased to recognize Robert H. McKinney as Indiana University renames the School of Law in Indianapolis in his honor.
The naming ceremony will take place on Friday, October 19, at Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis, Lawrence W. Inlow Hall, 530 West New York Street, in Indianapolis at 4:30 p.m.
Robert H. McKinney was one of the early partners of the firm Bose McKinney & Evans LLP. Though he retired in 1992, McKinney continues to have a great impact on the legal community. In December 2011, he donated a gift of $31.5 million to the law school, which includes match funds through the Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis IMPACT fundraising campaign.
McKinney joined the firm in 1963 as a named partner, bringing with him numerous business contacts in the banking and investment fields. McKinney was a graduate of the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, the Naval Justice School, and Indiana University School of Law. He served in the Navy for three years following his graduation from Annapolis and for two years during the Korean War. He also served the President Jimmy Carter administration as chairman of the Federal Home Loan Bank Board, the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, and the Federal S and L Insurance Corporation.
“The example my father sets for our family and the community is incomparable,” said Lisa McKinney, partner at Bose McKinney & Evans LLP. “My father always encouraged – ‘Do well by doing good.’ “
