The law firm of Bose McKinney & Evans LLP is pleased to welcome the addition of partners Jeffrey Halbert, Ron Smith and Steve Sutherlin.

Halbert is a partner in the Labor and Employment Law and Business Groups of Bose McKinney & Evans. He brings extensive experience litigating various labor and employment matters throughout Indiana. In addition to having litigated cases before all state and federal courts in Indiana, Halbert also has litigated cases before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals and United States Supreme Court, and has practiced before numerous state and federal agencies. He earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Clarion University of Pennsylvania and spent his first year of legal study at University College Galway in Galway, Ireland. He obtained his juris doctorate from the Ohio Northern University Claude W. Petit College of Law.
Sutherlin is a partner in the Business Law Group of Bose McKinney & Evans. He is a former Indiana securities commissioner and is experienced in securities, insurance, merger and acquisitions, business start-ups, business structures and real estate.  Sutherlin has helped to form more than 20 insurance companies and served as the president of a credit life and disability insurance company, as well as of an Indiana medical malpractice insurance company. He obtained his juris doctorate from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law – Indianapolis, and his bachelor’s degree at DePauw University.
Smith is chair of the Automotive Law Group and a member of the Labor and Employment Law and Business Law Groups of Bose McKinney & Evans. He is a past president of Stewart & Irwin, P.C. He represents numerous non-publicly traded companies of every type and has represented several hundred franchise vehicle dealerships throughout the Midwest, Southeast and Eastern United States, together with various vehicle trade associations, for over 43 years. Smith has assisted his clients with a variety of matters including distributor, manufacturer and contract and arbitration disputes and other aspects of labor and employment law. He obtained his juris doctorate at Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law – Indianapolis and earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration and accounting at Indiana University.
