The law firm of Bose McKinney & Evans LLP is pleased to announce that Director of Library Services Cheryl Niemeier will serve as chair of the Private Law Libraries Special Interest Section of the American Association of Law Libraries.
As one of 13 special interest sections of the American Association of Law Libraries, the Private Law Libraries Special Interest Section (PLL-SIS) was established to promote the interests and address concerns of librarians employed in private law firms and corporations from around the country. Over the years, the issues targeted by the organization, which has grown to 1,300 members, have expanded to include the future of legal research instruction, the development of information technology, and the revolution in law firm structure and management.
The role calls for a three-year commitment with Niemeier serving as chair elect 2013-2014, chair 2014-2015 and past chair 2015-2016.
Niemeier has been a professional librarian for 26 years and the director of library services for Bose McKinney & Evans for the past ten years. She frequently speaks at professional association conferences and continuing legal education seminars. Niemeier has authored multiple articles and seminar publications.
Niemeier holds a Master of Science in Library Science from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Indiana University, Bloomington. In addition to her upcoming role with the American Association of Law Libraries, Niemeier is also a member of Ohio Regional Association of Law Libraries and Indianapolis Law Librarians Association.
