The law firm Bose McKinney & Evans LLP is pleased to announce that partner Lisa C. McKinney has been elected to the Board of Advisors of the Center on Congress based at Indiana University – Bloomington.
Under the direction of former U.S. Representative Lee Hamilton, the Center on Congress is a non-partisan educational institution created to help young people understand the system of representative democracy in the United States of America and their role in making it work. Recent center projects include “Citizens Unite: A Helpful Guide to Being a Better Citizen” – an animated video for middle-school students, “Civic Quotes” – an app for iPads featuring quotes on civic engagement and “Congressional Moments” – an interactive app that explores six major ways congressional work affects our everyday lives.
As a Board Member, McKinney will advise and counsel the Center to improve and expand its products and outreach.
McKinney joined Bose McKinney & Evans LLP in 1992. Her areas of experience include environmental, administrative, alcohol and tobacco, and procurements. McKinney represents a range of clients from convenience stores, large retailers, restaurants, importers, alcohol producers and manufacturers, big box stores, developers, hotels, golf courses, drug and grocery stores, taverns and clubs. She has extensive experience in administrative matters before the Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission (ATC) and the federal TTB. In addition, McKinney has successfully worked on procurement contracts and appeals before the Indiana Department of Administration, including procurement opportunities and appeals for certified women-owned or minority-owned businesses (MBE/WBEs).
McKinney has served in leadership positions for several community organizations including the Indianapolis and Indiana State Bar Association, the Board of Visitors for IU Maurer School of Law, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Indiana State Chapter, the Indianapolis Zoological Society and the Indianapolis Art Center.
