The law firm Bose McKinney & Evans LLP is pleased to announce that Cheryl L. Niemeier has been selected as the recipient of the ‘2013 Affiliate Member Award’ by the Indiana State Bar Association – Affiliate Membership Committee.
This award is presented each year to a member who can demonstrate distinctive service to the legal profession, in the areas of paralegalism, legal administration, law librarianship or court administration.
Niemeier has been a professional librarian for more than 26 years. She is currently director of library services for Bose McKinney & Evans LLP in Indianapolis. She received her master of science in library science from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana in 1986 and her bachelor of science in education from Indiana University – Bloomington in 1981.
Niemeier serves the law firm in a unique capacity as the only professional solely focused on administering the firm’s law library. She manages the library budget, negotiates online research contracts, writes for the firm’s Bose Law and Technology blog and is regularly called upon to conduct research and provide supporting materials to attorneys and paralegals at Bose McKinney & Evans. She is a great asset and has proven during her 10 years with the firm to be dedicated to the success of others and the firm as a whole. She takes great pride in supporting attorneys, paralegals and other professionals in the firm.
Passionate about her field, Niemeier participates in several associations, including the American Association of Law Libraries, Special Libraries Association, Ohio Regional Association of Law Libraries and Indianapolis Law Libraries Association. She was also recently elected chair of the Private Law Libraries-Special Interest Section of the American Association of Law Libraries. The role calls for a three-year commitment with Niemeier serving as chair elect 2013-2014, chair 2014-2015 and past chair 2015-2016.
