A Lebanon-Ind. area family will start the winter off with a new warm home, thanks to Habitat for Humanity of Boone County and the efforts of employees of Bose McKinney & Evans LLP and Bose Public Affairs Group LLC. A team of eight employees volunteered their service this fall to help in the construction of a 3 bedroom, 1,200 square foot home for a local family in need.
The event was only one part of several all-day volunteerism events organized this year by the law firm and public affairs firm. Other charitable “Bose Means Service” projects included working with NeighborLink, a grass-roots organization that does free home repairs for low-income residents; packing and organizing at the St. Vincent DePaul food bank; and building a memorial garden with the Keep Indianapolis Beautiful Club at the Lynhurst Seventh and Eighth Grade Center.
Both firms also participate in Casual Fridays several weeks throughout the year, through which employees make donations to charities in which their colleagues are involved. A different organization is highlighted on each Casual Friday. In addition the firms also are supporters of United Way, putting forth an extensive United Way employee campaign each year.
“Supporting our community is part of the culture here. We encourage everyone at Bose McKinney & Evans and Bose Public Affairs Group to participate in our group projects, and to find community organizations where they can contribute and lead. It’s an important way for us to stay plugged in—as people, and as professionals,” said Jeff Gaither, managing partner of Bose McKinney & Evans.
