The law firm of Bose McKinney & Evans LLP is pleased to announce that partner George Patton has been selected as a member of the Warren E. Burger Society by the National Center for State Courts.
The Warren E. Burger Society was formed to honor individuals who have volunteered their time, talent, and support to the National Center for State Courts. Membership is granted to volunteers who have demonstrated an exemplary commitment to improving the administration of justice through contributions of service or support to the National Center for State Courts. Society membership is commemorated by the presentation of a limited-edition print of the final portrait of the late Chief Justice Warren E. Burger, who helped found the National Center for State Courts in 1971.
Patton is a partner in the Litigation Group and a former chair of the Appellate Law Group of Bose McKinney & Evans. He taught Appellate Advocacy and Procedure at Indiana University Maurer School of Law – Bloomington for five years, wrote a book on Indiana Appellate Procedure published by West Group, authored a chapter in a book on appellate briefs and published several law review articles on Indiana appellate procedure. His articles have been cited by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, the Indiana Supreme Court, and the Indiana Court of Appeals.
Patton has worked on cases before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals, the Indiana Supreme Court, and the Indiana Court of Appeals, resulting in more than 150 published opinions. He practices from the firm’s Washington D.C. office.
