Bose McKinney & Evans Sponsors Concert at MLK Park in Indianapolis

The conductor of the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra addresses the crowd at MLK Park.

On Friday, June 15, 2018, Indy residents packed a picnic and enjoyed a free Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra concert at Martin Luther King Jr. Park.  The evening was sponsored by Indy Parks and Recreation, Penrod Art Society, Charles Rubright and Bose McKinney & Evans.

The park holds a prominent place in our country’s history.  Robert F. Kennedy had originally planned to visit the park on April 4, 1968 to campaign; however, he instead had to deliver the news of Dr. King’s assassination.  In 1995, President Bill Clinton dedicated the park’s memorial, “Landmark for Peace,” to honor Dr. King and Mr. Kennedy for their contributions to the nation. The park’s mission is “to raise awareness, provoke thought and inspire action to eliminate division and injustice.”
