The Labor and Employment Group of Bose McKinney & Evans LLP is hosting an informative seminar to help employers make proactive policy decisions and stay on top of today’s biggest social issues as they relate to federal and state employment law. The seminar will be held on Thursday, August 29, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., with registration beginning at 8:45 a.m., at the Renaissance Indianapolis North Hotel in Carmel, Indiana.

Attorneys from Bose McKinney & Evans will address the following topics during the seminar entitled, “How To” Protect Your Organization Against Contemporary Workplace Claims.

  • “How To” avoid class action wage/hour and wage payment claims without yielding to an across-the-board arbitration mechanism.
  • “How To” navigate the troubled waters of the FMLA, ADA, workers’ compensation and short-term disability policies in dealing with medical conditions while avoiding disability and accommodation claims.
  • What to look for in considering and selecting Employment Practices Liability Insurance.
  • Vignettes involving vaping, off-duty marijuana and CBD use and other lifestyle variations in the modern workplace.

The day includes a general session in the morning and roundtable discussions in the afternoon. During the two rounds of roundtable discussions, attendees will be able to ask questions and share practical concerns and hands-on experience with their professional peers and attorney moderators.

The cost to participate in the seminar, including lunch, is $95, and continuing education credits are available. Reservations are required and seating is limited. Additional information about the seminar can be found by visiting boselaw.com or contacting Kelley Terrill at kterrill@boselaw.com.
