The new federal age to purchase tobacco and vaping products has been raised from 18 to 21 years of age. Although the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is expected to provide additional guidance on how federal enforcement will be implemented, the Alcohol and Tobacco Commission (ATC) is strongly encouraging retailers to come into compliance with the new federal minimum.
The ATC has stated it will work with the Indiana General Assembly to amend portions of the Indiana Code necessary for the ATC to enforce the new federal minimum.
