Profile

Dr. John Emanuele is of counsel to Bose McKinney & Evans and is a member of the Intellectual Property Group. He has experience drafting and prosecuting U.S. and foreign patent applications in the chemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnology arts. Dr. Emanuele has filed patent applications, appeals and responses on behalf of clients and has prepared opinions on patentability, freedom to operate and litigation case analysis in areas including medical devices, biotechnology, analytical instruments and software.

Dr. Emanuele has participated and analyzed patent infringement cases, as well as provided opinions on licensing issues. He has helped clients in a variety of fields including biotechnology, plant genetics, nano-materials, antibodies, siRNA therapeutics, biologics, small molecule  pharmaceuticals, genetically modified organisms including microorganisms, plants and animals, compounds to label DNA/RNA, polymers, fungicides, herbicides, insecticides, specialized metal alloys, engineered enzymes, medical devices and dye molding process.

Prior to earning his law degree, Dr. Emanuele worked in the corporate sector as a research scientist in the bio-energy industry, pharmaceutical and food flavor and fragrance industries. He served as a post-doctoral research fellow at a major pharmaceutical company and a senior research scientist in a start-up biotechnology company.
